Abstract | Despite new circumstances of teaching art on a cart, meaning the art teacher is moving from classroom to classroom to implement lessons from the position of guest, it was realized that the author could employ Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) as a method to deliver a choice-based curriculum that supports social-emotional growth. As pioneers of TAB, Douglas and Jaquith (2018) defined TAB as "a PreK-12 learner-directed approach that meets the needs of all learners through choice, agency, flexibility, and emergent curriculum." The author incorporated TAB as a pedagogical starting point to scaffold student learning of artistic behavior within meaningful concepts. In this article, the author presents how art on a cart reframed pedagogical practice to support social-emotional growth. (ERIC). |
