Abstract | We have developed a new foundation-level course at our institution that links the concept of chemical equilibria from four of the traditional subdisciplines (analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, and physical). The course, entitled Solution and Solid State Chemistry (CHEM 210), is designed to serve our chemistry and biochemistry majors, as well as those students interested in prehealth professions. The course functions as a bridge between the introductory and organic chemistry courses and the in-depth chemistry curriculum at our institution. A week-by-week explanation of the course curriculum is provided, as well as the description of the laboratory experiments conducted during the course. (As Provided). |
