AbstractPacific Islanders (PI) continue to be underrepresented in all sectors of higher education, including students, staff, and faculty. For example, data from the 2010 Census reveals that less than 20 percent, or one fifth, of Pacific Islander adults aged 25 or older hold a bachelor's degree (EPIC & AAJC, 2014). These data point to an urgent need to support higher education attainment for the Pacific Islander community. The authors are PI practitioners who have navigated and worked in various sectors of higher education. In this article, the authors share their reflections on how institutions can be more inclusive of PI. These humble reflections are offered to ignite conversations rather than as a how-to guide. It is hoped these discussions can inform the work of educators at Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs) and higher education institutions overall.
