Abstract | This quantitative study examined the link between food insecurity and mental health concerns among a sample of 1,229 undergraduate students at a large, public university. Using logistic regression, we found that depression and perceived stress were significantly associated with both short- and long-term food insecurity. African American students, students with concerns about paying for college, and LGBTQ students were also more likely to be food insecure. Implications for student affairs practitioners are explored.
