AbstractIn the online learning environment, it is seen that problems arise in the absence of interaction. In order to prevent these problems, this study, which was carried out by taking into consideration the principles that are formed using the community of inquiry framework, took place during the 2014-2015 Spring Semester using 30 students from a vocational college located in the Turkish Mediterranean Region who enrolled in the "Graphic Animation" course. The study was used a pretest-posttest control group design. The control group constituted of students working with online problem based individual methods while the experimental group constituted of students working with online problem based collaborative learning methods. The groups were compared in terms of academic success, motivation and satisfaction. It was determined that the motivation was higher in the experimental group, while there was no difference in the achievement and satisfaction in the experimental group and the control group.
