Abstract | Having researched and considered for some time where the field of art education has been perhaps positions the author to thoughtfully ask, Where we might be going in years ahead? And subsequently, What should the field do to meet with success the challenges it faces in the future? In the fast-paced, ever-changing, systemic world, no one knows with even the slightest certainty where art education is headed next month, let alone through the decades ahead. But speculating forward, through the mind of a historian, this article lists five points expressing some brief thoughts regarding the future of art education and related fields that impact it directly.
