The work describes the key stages in a study that involved identifying several areas of activity for business informaticians to focus on in the fields of all-round and deep data analysis and data warehousing. The paper describes the authors' own methodology for helping a student master fundamental algorithms and methods of business analysis. The work shares the findings from the authors' pedagogical experiment on fostering said competencies.
