AbstractOver the years, the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model has been widely adopted for technology research dealing with intention and behavior. More currently, with the advancement of educational technology, the constructs embedded in this model and survey instrument can be easily applied to this setting. The UTAUT draws upon eight previously validated models: the theory of reasoned action; the technology acceptance model; the motivational model; the theory of planned behavior; the theory of planned behavior; the model of PC utilization; innovation diffusion theory; and social cognitive theory. This paper revisits the constructs of the UTAUT model and scale examining its conceptualization and validation. While doing so, users are presented with a historical evolution of technology research that can be used to further examine educational technology. (As Provided).
