Abstract	Exposure to domestic violence can have significant short- and long-term effects on children and adolescents, including increased internalizing and externalizing behavioral systems, physical health effects including heart disease and diabetes, and a negative impact on school functioning (Delaney-Black et al., 2002; Felitti et al., 1998; Kitzmann, Gaylord, Holt, & Kenny, 2003). Minority children and their families can be disproportionately affected by exposure to domestic violence due to living in high poverty and high crime communities. The purpose of this article is to provide additional information to school psychologists on the social, emotional, and academic vulnerabilities associated with children's exposure to domestic violence and on intervention considerations when working with trauma-exposed individuals.
