Abstract | This article presents the 27th Delphine Hanna Lecture presented at the 2018 NAKHE Annual Conference. Bethany Hersman states that leadership is about serving, and mentoring is a form of leadership. There is a need to preserve the NAKHE tradition, and one way to do that is for members to live up to their potential by mentoring others throughout their careers. At the end of the day, no one is too old to have a mentor. Rather than being a mentor as a convenience factor or mentoring as an obligation, one should look at this relationship as an opportunity to build the next generation of kinesiologists. Think of it as paying it forward by helping someone else along in their career. We all have the opportunity to inspire somebody. How will you help lead them to excellence? (ERIC). |
