AbstractOne of the core courses in the IS2010 Model Curriculum Guideline is "IS Strategy, Management and Acquisition" ("ISMA"). The authors redesigned their pre-IS2010 model Information Technology Management (ITM) course to meet the skills development stated in the ISMA course. Since the IT discipline is changing rapidly, the technical content in the course needs constant refinement. Instead of starting with learning outcomes and related content for the course design, the authors suggest that the design process could start with learning outcomes and assessments and provide a broad content list with specifics determined by the assessments. They adapt a combination of ideas found in software product development for their evolving course redesign by focusing on assessments in the course. In this paper, the authors apply the test-first principle from agile system development for refining their ITM course to meet the academic intents of the ISMA course. They discuss all aspects of their redesigned ITM course resulting from their initial offering. (As Provided).
