Abstract | The purpose of this paper is to describe the professional development that has taken place in conjunction with Ohio adopting the College and Career Readiness (CCR) Standards. The professional development (PD) has changed over time to include not only training on the new standards and lesson plans but training on the concepts defined in the standards. To engage the participants at the PD events, trainings have been developed to include PD over time, hands-on activities with discovery built into the PD, and specific concepts for a discipline. This paper focuses on the changes particularly in the field of mathematics. However, there are PD trainings for reading that have been designed using the same basic principles. (As Provided). |
