Abstract | There are no easy guidelines to follow in submitting articles to journals, but based on our perspective and experience, we do have a few suggestions. Conduct research that tests a well-formulated, strategic, powerful, and profound theory and contains enough data to compute an effect size. Create a body of knowledge by conducting a series of studies on related topics. Decide if you want to publish every study you conduct or only the "best" studies. Decide how much time you want to devote to writing up any one article. Decide whether you want to work alone or have collaborators. If you have collaborators, give students co-authorship. Network with others in your field, treat reviewers and editors with respect and consideration, consider submitting your work to a wide range of journals, and do not take rejection very seriously (just submit your article to another journal). Above all, have faith in your work and persist in conducting research and in publishing your work. (As Provided). |
