Abstract | The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications recognizes the importance of a curriculum that prepares students "to apply current tools and technologies appropriate for the communications professions in which they work, and to understand the digital world" (ACEJMC, n.d.). Infusing experiential learning into curriculum better prepares students for the workplace. Kolb (1984) defines experiential learning as "the process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience. Knowledge results from the combination of grasping and transforming experience" (p. 41). Drawing from the authors' experiences as educators, this paper presents a semester-long activity that brought the social media professional world to undergraduate students by partnering with the often overlooked university communications office.
