Abstract | In 2012, Louisville Collegiate School (Kentucky) formed a partnership with The School of St. Jude in Arusha, Tanzania. As part of their professional development, six Collegiate faculty members travel each summer to spend two weeks coteaching and interacting with Tanzanian faculty and students. This professional development experience forces Collegiate teachers to create lesson plans and activities that connect with students despite cultural and language barriers. It allows teachers from both schools to share, experiment, and learn new teaching techniques beneficial to either school. It also creates friendships to last a lifetime. (ERIC). |
