Abstract | This article shall discuss a number of factors to be considered in the process of integrating computer technology into the student language learning experience. It examines research on student attitudes and the factors that affect student engagement with the technology before looking at the experiences of a project undertaken at the University of Ulster aimed at integrating computer technology into the delivery of undergraduate classes on French translation. By drawing on the experience and examples in the project, this article shall conclude by outlining a number of issues to be considered in the integration of multimedia technologies in the delivery of language learning. This will include a range of considerations, such as student attitudes and level of comfort as well as pedagogical concerns. (As Provided). |
