| Abstract | AIM Academy of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania is a K-12 school modeled after the Lab School of Washington. AIM promises its 200 students and their parents a unique and innovative learning environment. Applying the latest techniques proven to help children who learn differently, AIM Academy taps into students' talents in ways that are both fully engaging and academically rigorous. With its rich history and culture as a backdrop, AIM and an architectural design team created an environment that highlights the arts and academics in a state-of-the-art facility. Originally an 18th-century paper mill on the Schuylkill River, the facility celebrates its architecture and uses light, color, and a variety of spaces to support individual learning, as well as collaboration between students. On the other side of the building, 2,200 educators from across the country and across the world have trained at the AIM Institute for Learning and Research since its founding in 2006. The institute's goal is to provide a center of educational excellence and professional development with access to the latest research-based curriculum, technology, and training. AIM works because academy students and AIM institute teachers acquire the means for autonomy and independence, the ability to achieve mastery in skills that matter, and the tools to serve the greater good, When teachers implement best practices in a learning environment that stimulates creativity and encourages signature strengths, children with learning differences have the best chance for success.
