Abstract | The present status of the elementary school counseling profession (the existence of 10,000 such counselors in the United States, a professional journal, a national conference, etc.) is described. The roles of secondary and elementary school counselors are differentiated and training programs for elementary counselors specifically designed for them are urged. The article closes with a description of future roles for elementary counselors in setting educational policy. (EK) |
