Abstract	In this qualitative phenomenological study, the lived experiences of ten transgender students attending a public college or university were explored. Each participant had completed at least one semester. Before this dissertation, no study explored the lived experiences of transgender college or university students in Jamaica. Research shows that transgender college and university students continue to experience acts of discrimination, marginalization, and victimization. Transgender students are a part of the gender and sexual minority population prone to psychological distress because of various proximal and distal stressors. As a result of the aforementioned, the Minority Stress Theory was selected as the framework to explore the lived experiences of transgender college and university students attending public colleges or universities in Jamaica. Six themes emerged from the analysis of the participants' narratives: (1) Campuswide Discrimination, (2) Instructor and Peer Bias, (3) Safety, (4) The Unresilent Student, (5) A Culture of Intolerance, and (6) Mental Health and Psychological Distress. The findings of this study indicated that transgender students attending public colleges or universities in Jamaica have been subjected to various forms of marginalization, discrimination, and victimization on campus and in the classroom. A perceived reason for the lack of acceptance, tolerance, and support was the lack of training of faculty, staff, and students regarding the needs of the transgender student population.
