Abstract	Districts and schools constantly troubleshoot and mitigate new and ongoing challenges. Rather than addressing each challenge ad hoc, they are looking to adopt a systematic, repeatable process proven to diagnose and respond to challenges efficiently and effectively. One such approach with wide application and use in education is a Networked Improvement Community (NIC). A NIC is a model of continuous improvement that brings together a group of professionals who work to solve a well specified problem. The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) and Kentucky Educational Television (KET) have partnered to create the Kentucky Online Learning Experience Collaborative (KyOLXC) workgroups, which aims to provide support for Kentucky's online K-12 programs and full-time, online students by piloting a NIC to address challenges in administering virtual learning. For KyOLXC-participating schools, the NIC model is particularly helpful in increasing communication among virtual educators and in solving their reported challenges. (ERIC).
