Abstract | The 2018 Biennial Survey continues AHEAD's longitudinal work to provide information and benchmarking about the evolving work of college disability resource professionals and the offices and programs they lead on college campuses. The purpose of this benchmarking work is to: (1) Collect demographic information about a wide variety of disability services office staff, including personal statistics (e.g., age, ethnicity), professional backgrounds, and salary ranges; (2) Learn more about the administration of disability services offices, including the number of students served, staffing patterns, the decentralization or centralization of services, and the institutional units (e.g., academic affairs, student affairs) overseeing disability resource office operations; and (3) Provide practical information to guide administrators in disability resource offices and at AHEAD, including which types of compensation, resources, and professional development opportunities would be most beneficial for disability services staff. The 2018 Biennial Survey focuses entirely on disability resource offices and programs, providing information about office structures, reporting lines, staffing patterns, budgets, and constituents the office serves. The 2018 survey marks the second in an alternating cycle of benchmarking work that captures professional data and programmatic information in turn. (ERIC). |
