| Abstract | Video self-modeling is a powerful intervention that uses carefully planned and edited videos of self-imaging so students can view themselves performing a task, skill, or behavior at mastery. More than 45 years of research supports the efficacy of video self-modeling across an array of behaviors and disabilities, including: (1) Dysfluent speech; (2) Daily living skills; (3) Classroom routines and transitions; (4) Appropriate replacement behaviors for aggression and tantrums; (5) Language pragmatics; (6) Anxiety; (7) Noncompliance; (8) Selective mutism; and (9) Use of strategies for academics with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). "Picture Perfect: Video Self-Modeling for Behavior Change" contains step-by-step directions for: (1) Selecting goal behaviors; (2) Developing a progress monitoring system; (3) Planning the video; (4) Creating the video; and (5) Data collection and interpretation. The book also includes 12 specific application examples with reproducible data collection forms, a visual index for supported decision making and all the information necessary to design and implement this effective intervention.
