Abstract | Teacher-evaluation has become a key measure for determining teacher effectiveness and the examination of the evaluation process at early childhood levels is a critical area of study. Responding to federal policies, many states have reformed their teacher evaluation systems. One of the more recent developments in state policy is the inclusion of early childhood teachers. The Danielson Framework for Teaching is one of the most common instruments used for teacher evaluation and previous studies have determined it to be a valid and reliable instrument. However, these validation studies were conducted with teachers primarily in the upper grades. Therefore, this study extends the research to examine the validity and reliability of the Danielson Framework for evaluating PreK-3rd grade teachers. (As Provided). |
