Abstract | Many children and their families in rural America need better and more equitable educational opportunities. "Leveling the Playing Field" highlights the many and varied opportunities for Congress to act to ensure rural students receive the education they need and are given an equitable chance to succeed. The following policy initiatives will support the work already underway in some rural communities: (1) Enabling Access to New, High-Quality Educational Opportunities; (2) Addressing Health Barriers to Learning; (3) Leveraging Career and Technical Education Programs for Economic Growth; (4) Ending Food Insecurity for Rural Children; and (5) Adequately Investing in Rural Schools. (ERIC). |
