Abstract | In September and October of 2017, the Center on Education Policy conducted a survey of state deputy superintendents of education or their designees to learn about states' early efforts in implementing the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Most of those survey findings are described in the CEP publication "Planning for Progress: States Reflect on Year One Implementation of ESSA," available at www. cep-dc.org. This special report highlights state responses to questions in the 2017 CEP survey about policies for providing state test data to teachers, principals, and parents and other test-related issues, which were not covered in the original survey report.
