Abstract | The purpose of this study is to determine if changes were found in students and staff involved in the co-teaching intervention. Data points were gathered from multiple sources which include students and staff. The study was focused on academic achievement as well as student and staff perceptions of academic performance, student engagement, supportive environment, and perceived improved teacher collaboration and classroom instruction. Ultimately, the aim of the intervention was to include more special education students in general education core courses with support. Both quantitative and qualitative data indicated that co-teaching resulted in statistically significant changes in students and staff regarding their academic performance and perception of performance. The data also supported improved perception of student engagement, supportive environment and perceived teacher collaboration and classroom instruction. This study offers recommendations for the implementation of co-teaching. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC.
