Abstract | This quantitative, causal-comparative study examined the degree of influence the parent teacher relationship can make on the grade point averages and graduation rates of students in an alternative school setting. Findings of this study revealed that the active parent teacher communication had direct relationship with the success rate of emotionally challenged high school students. Success rate was determined based on the graduation rates and the score students attained in the internal tests conducted in the school. Grade Point Averages of students in the core subjects improved substantially based on the statistics in Chapter 4. After the school initiated parent-teacher communication, the graduation rates improved from the school overage of 52% to 75%. The study results can be utilized by many schools to follow the methods adopted to improve the grade point averages and graduation rates. This research revealed that parent-teacher contact was an effective strategy to bring up the performance standards of the students.
