Abstract | The purpose of the research was to identify and compare strategies being used to make disciples of Christ among college students through Southern Baptist collegiate ministries. The researcher sought to determine the prevalent strategies used by campus-based ministries, church-based ministries, and collegiate church plants. The desired outcome of the research was to describe a composite of disciple-making strategies that are creating environments of spiritual growth and are being used to produce fully devoted followers of Christ. The phenomenological method was used to determine the primary discipleship strategies and to discover the strengths and weaknesses of the main collegiate ministry models used by Southern Baptists in North America. As a result, numerous implications arose from the data, the hybrid model of collegiate ministry was validated, and a new innovative hybrid model of collegiate ministry was suggested. The goal of the research was to inform the national conversation concerning collegiate ministry in a productive and proactive manner.
