Abstract	Reactions to the trauma of an earthquake are likely to show up in children's behavior at school, and teachers can play an important role in the recovery of their students. By better understanding students' reactions, teachers can be prepared to provide appropriate support within the school setting. By being informed about trauma, teachers and staff will be better able to assist students with current school functioning and prevent future difficulties. Children and teens react to trauma and loss in different ways. Their disaster experience, level of understanding, ability to handle difficult emotions, and ways of coping will differ according to the age of the child, temperament, and other life experiences or emotional problems. Caregivers, family, peers, school, and community all contribute to how children and adolescents react and recover. (ERIC).
