Abstract | "Learning to Teach" encourages the students to engage in critical reflection of teaching practices by immersing themselves in the Lathner Primary virtual school. They work with Anna Jones, her class, and the other teachers around Lathner to help develop their ability to analyze scenarios and critically reflect on their own unexamined assumptions. Exercises within the book combine with other learning tools such as assorted documents from Lathner, including journal entries and letters from the school, "Pause, Reflect, Record" and "Taking Action" sections to assist students to practice their classroom skills. There are also notes from the authors discussing their perspectives and experiences of the subject matter. Contained in this book are the following chapters: (1) 21st Century Learners; (2) Young People's Lifeworlds; (3) Teacher Identities; (4) Companion Chapters; (5)Teacher as Learner; (6) Preparation and Experiences in the Field; (7) Classroom Interactions; (8) Inclusive Practices; (9) Teaching with Technology; (10) Planning for Learning; (11) Assessment for Learning; and (12) Teaching and Learning in New Times.
