Abstract | This report describes the results of a study that used administrative data to better understand the need for employment-related services and supports among youth in foster care and how one community-based employment training and job placement program in Chicago is trying to address those needs. Among other things, the report describes the characteristics and placement histories of the foster youth the program serves, their engagement in employment training activities, and their placement in subsidized jobs. Appended are: (1) Number of Foster Youth Assigned to and Engaged in Employment and Training Activities in 2007; (2) Number of Foster Youth Assigned to and Engaged in Employment Training Activities in 2008; (3) Number of Foster Youth Assigned to and Engaged in Employment Training Activities in 2009; (4) Number of Hours Assigned to and Engaged in Employment and Training Activities in 2007 (N = 124); (5) Number of Hours Assigned to and Engaged in Employment Training Activities in 2008; (6) Number of Hours Assigned to and Engaged in Employment Training Activities in 2009; (7) Unweighted Employers; and (8) Weighted Employers (N = 124).
