Abstract | This is a manual for those considering the role of Tutor in an educational programme following Open and Distance Learning (ODL) methodologies. To introduce the concept of self-learning, the manual is designed to be self-instructional: (1) Self paced; (2) Easy to read; (3) Easy to follow the instructions; (4) Illustrated with examples to enhance understanding; and (5) Activity-based to provide opportunities for reflection and application. Contents were selected by participants who attended a face-to-face training programme. Five units include: (1) Introduction to Open and Distance Learning (ODL); (2) Curriculum and learning materials; (3) Tutoring in ODL; (4) Process of tutoring; and (5) Evaluation and monitoring (E&M).
