Abstract | The purpose of the AISI (Alberta Initiative for School Improvement) Handbook for Cycle 3, 2006-2009 is to provide school authorities with the provincial and local requirements and processes for planning, funding, implementing, managing, evaluating, reporting and sharing school improvement projects. The handbook provides a framework for the initiative which includes the goal, principles, key considerations, characteristics, research on how to improve student learning, criteria for AISI projects, and the intent for Cycle 3. Other sections present the funding, the project requirements, project planning and proposal preparation, a review and approval of project application submissions; reporting requirements, and the annual timeline. Section 7 provides AISI contact information and Section 8 identifies available forms. The appendix gives the aligning goals, strategies and measures.
