Abstract | Undergraduate students who are enrolled in research methods courses tend to believe that such courses are overwhelming and that it is almost impossible to get through them. It has been reported that education students, in particular, enter research methods courses with feelings of stress and anxiety, although in most cases, they are not really aware of what research methods are all about. The purpose of this study is to examine the nature of anxiety that undergraduate students experience in a research methods course and explore some of the factors that influence their anxiety levels. The implications of this study are discussed and teaching interventions are suggested to assist students in dealing with their anxiety. (Contains 7 tables.) (Author). |
