Abstract | This book explores the many ways teachers can communicate successfully with parents about their children's math education. Discussing newsletters, back-to-school-night presentations, homework, and parent conferences, the book tackles issues of how to bridge the gap between home and school. The practical approach is presented in detail with engaging examples of how it might play out during the school year. The underlying message is an important one: Strong partnerships with parents will help children become more successful math students. Teachers will come away from this book with the knowledge that it is not only possible, but imperative to present their math curriculum to parents in a positive light. (KHR) |
