| Abstract | This guide, aimed primarily at school administrators and school counselors, is a reference manual to be used in conjunction with the corresponding sections of the School Act, RSA 2000 and the Local Authorities Election Act RSA, and any other related legislation. The document provides historical background on the right to choose the language of instruction; it outlines the francophone education regions, regional authorities, funding by the regional authorities, the transfer of assets from a school district to the regional authority, the transfer of teachers from one school district to a regional authority, the transfer of non-teaching staff from one school district to a regional authority, election regulations, and the application of the School Act. The appendices feature ministerial orders as they pertain to the various francophone education regions as well as a sample of a Census of Electors form, in both English and French. (AS) |
