| Abstract | This book presents scenarios about mistakes that teachers make which can hurt students, using information from former students' own statements. It also offers advice on solutions to these mistakes. The 25 mistakes are divided into six categories: (1) "Discipline" (inappropriate discipline strategies, physical aggression, purposeful alienation, and public ridicule); (2) "Teacher-Student Relations" (favoritism, physiological discrimination, personal attacks, inappropriate teacher-student relationships, deliberate mistreatment, racial and cultural discrimination, and humiliation); (3) "Classroom Policies and Practices" (inappropriate classroom policies and inappropriate toileting practices); (4) "Classroom Management and Instruction" (inappropriate educational strategies and inappropriate assessment); (5) "Personality and Professionalism" (teacher insensitivity, academic shortcomings, poor administration, and teacher reputation, and teacher misjudgment); (6) "Teaching Style and Behavior" (teacher bias or expectations, unethical behavior, false accusations, inappropriate reactions, and sexual harassment).
