Abstract | Teachers and school administrators need to give ample time to study the scope of the science curriculum. Scope refers to the breadth of objectives that should be emphasized within each science unit of study. A subject-centered approach has been used to determine scope. Thus, those involved in developing science units of study use diverse reference material to ascertain what should be taught. This paper provides teachers with suggested guidelines for teaching science and developing curricula that will be beneficial to learners presently as well as in the future. (Contains 16 references.)
