AbstractThis subcommittee report to the 105th meeting of the United States Congress was prepared to help enact legislation that will help prevent and reduce juvenile crime. The hearing determined that there is a problem in our society with children killing children; this problem is not limited to the inner cities; the majority of violence occurs among friends; and schools and society are poorly prepared to deal with the problem of school violence. The table of contents includes: (1) a statement from Ron Stephens, Executive Director, National School Safety Center; (2) a statement from Gerald R. Patterson, Research Scientist, Oregon Social Learning Center; (3) statement from Joanne Cantor, Communication Arts Department, University of Wisconsin; (4) statement of Rodney Hammond, Director for the Division of Violence Prevention, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control; (5) statement of Justin Gaskin, Member of the audience; and (6) statement from Oriana Hair, member of the audience.
