Abstract	This issue of a quarterly newsletter focuses on the theme of critical thinking skills. "Critical Thinking Skills: An Interview with Dr. Richard Paul" (Barbara Christopher) is the text of an interview in which the director of research at Sonoma State University's Center for Critical Thinking examines the meaning of critical thinking and the ways adult educators can incorporate it into their own and their students' everyday lives. "Using Charts as Thinking Tools" (Debbie Guerra) outlines a learning activity incorporating critical thinking, spreadsheets, and charts that literacy practitioners can use to help adult learners learn to transfer classroom learning into daily life. "Helping Students Ask the Right Questions" (Diane Della Croce) suggests techniques for using the Socratic method of teaching with students in postsecondary-level and adult education classes. Strategies for developing adult basic education (ABE) students learn the basic thinking skills that are prerequisite to higher-order thinking skills are offered in "Integrating Critical Thinking Skills into ABE Curriculum" (Elizabeth Odom). "Bloom's Taxonomy of Six Cognitive Levels" characterizes six levels of cognitive skills: knowledge; comprehension; application; analysis; synthesis; and evaluation. "Face to Face in a Nightmare: Critical Thinking and Reclaiming" (Cynthia Blodgett-McDeavitt) deals with how highly educated women learn to relearn after a "cognitive event." (MN)
