Abstract	This review examines research done and information made available regarding the education of minority ethnic groups in Scotland. Compilers of the review used and commented on available statistical information and Scottish studies relevant to minority ethnic groups and their education at all levels. The intent of the review was to determine whether people from minority ethnic groups living in Scotland receive equitable treatment in the Scottish educational system. The review concludes that some attention has been paid to the development of policies supporting the education of children, young people, and adults from minority ethnic groups. However, there is scant monitoring or evaluation in this area and little major funding to research in this field. Research has been directed more towards raising awareness than towards rigorous investigation. Priorities regarding future research, monitoring, and evaluation are identified.
