AbstractThis manual is aimed at employed people who want to think about where they are in their careers and in their lives, what they are doing now and what they might want to do in the future, and how they can set about improving their education and training and their future employability. It can be used by individuals or in a group context, and a short facilitator's guide is included in the materials. The manual has seven sections that take the user through a process of reflection and planning, the completion of which results in the production of a learning action plan for the future. Titles of the seven sections are as follows: (1) "Where Am I?"; (2) "How Did I Get Here? How Did I Learn?"; (3) "What Skills Do I Need Now?"; (4) "How Do I Feel about Where I Am Now?"; (5) "What Steps Do I Want To Take?" Who Can Help?"; (6) "Where Do I Want the Steps to Lead?"; and (7) "What Must I Do Next?" Each section includes a series of exercises leading to the production of a learning action plan. Suggestions to fill in the tables are found in the facilitator's guide (Section 8) but also in the main text (in italics). A short introductory module designed for use by those who feel the need for support before tackling the main exercises appears as an appendix. (YLB)
