AbstractThis set of reports contains materials related to a 3-year project to develop, implement, assess, and disseminate three interdisciplinary courses in the humanities and social sciences that were designed especially for adult baccalaureate students at the New School for Social Research. Included in the first report are a project summary, executive summary, and final report of the project, which entailed the following activities: development of the three courses; pilot testing of the courses in both classroom and distance learning environments; identification of the differences inherent to each delivery method; and identification of a distance learning environment through which an increasing portion of the New School's baccalaureate curriculum could be offered. The second report, which is the University of Michigan's evaluation of the project, contains the following: project overview; summary of the evaluation; summaries of the results of the student and faculty surveys administered at the project's beginning and end; and discussions of student recruitment and services, faculty development, curricular issues, and technological issues. Appendixes constituting approximately two-thirds of the second report contain the beginning-of-term and course evaluation questionnaires and detailed summaries of the results of each questionnaire.
