Abstract | The mission of the Center on Families, Communities, Schools and Children s Learning at Johns Hopkins University is to conduct research evaluations and policy analyses, and to produce and disseminate new knowledge about how families, schools, and communities influence students' motivation, learning, and development. This annotated bibliography compiles and annotates research from the Center. Entries are arranged in two major sections: "Family, School, and Community Connections in the Early Years of Childhood" and "Family, School, and Community Connection in Early and Late Adolescence." Chapters are: (1) "Family Education and Training in Early Care and Education"; (2) "The Road to Readiness: Family Needs, Community Resources, and Infant/Toddler Development"; (3) "Multicultural Studies of Family Support for Young Children s School Success"; (4) "The Effects of School-to-Home-to-School Communication on Children s Motivation and Learning"; (5) "Partners in Learning: Family Literacy Programs"; (6) "Studies of Parent Centers in Schools"; (7) "Parent Information for School Choice"; (8) "Natural Support Systems: Impact on Puerto Rican Families, Communities, and Schools"; (9) "Studies of Policies to Increase Family-School-Community Partnerships"; (10) "New Directions for Family-School-Community Partnerships with High Schools"; (11) "Materials for Teachers, Parents, and Members of the Community"; and (12) "A Study of Coaching in Community Settings."
