Abstract	This guide is designed as a comprehensive reference on financial assistance available to foreign nationals to study, teach, carry out research, or pursue other educational objectives in the United States. It provides information on agencies that offer awards for these purposes, citing over 600 scholarships, grants, and fellowships available from public and private sources in the U.S. and abroad, including governments, foundations, corporations, associations, research centers, libraries, and other agencies. Introductory sections describe the guide's organization and use, provide suggestions for planning U.S. study, list publications and Websites that provide additional information, contain statistics on geographic patterns of international study, and provide a map of the United States. The first major section cites sources of financial support of U.S. study by foreign nationals and is divided into subsections covering: all areas of the world, sub-Saharan Africa, Asia/Oceania, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and the Western Hemisphere. Within each of these subsections, aid sources are listed by country. The second major section lists undergraduate and graduate institutions in the U.S., with addresses and some program information. Lists of overseas educational advising centers and Institute of International Education member organizations are appended. Indexes include: administering and sponsoring agencies; funding resources by level and types of award; funding resources by field of study, amount of support; funding resources with special conditions; destination institutions; destinations in the United States; and countries of origin.
