Abstract | This instructional guide in French is intended for training Peace Corps volunteers serving in the Central African Republic. It includes 26 topical lessons at the advanced level, each consisting of briefly stated competency objectives and a number of brief, related situational dialogues or texts. Lesson topics include: orienting oneself; discussing the weather; talking about physical and mental well-being; describing daily activities; shopping; placing an order; explaining American life; describing qualities of people and objects; explaining recent activities; expressing wishes and intentions; telling a story; making comparisons/contrasts; discussing food; clothing; getting information about something; explaining a program; requesting help; explaining how to do something; asking/giving an opinion; interpreting; explaining advantages and disadvantages; persuading; encouraging/discouraging; writing a letter; repairing a bicycle; and discussing work.
