Abstract | This instructional guide in French is intended for training Peace Corps volunteers serving in the Central African Republic. It includes 35 topical lessons at the intermediate level, each consisting of briefly stated competency objectives and a number of brief, related situational dialogues. Lesson topics include: introducing oneself; introducing another person; talking about one's family; locating someone; locating common items; orienting oneself; weather and seasons; describing one's physical and mental well-being; expressing wishes, needs, and intentions; shopping; placing an order; describing qualities of a person or object; describing a person; describing an object; talking about language skills; explaining daily activities; explaining life in the United States; meals; clothing; leisure activities; travel; getting and giving information; making comparisons/contrasts; explaining recent activities; discussing one's training; discussing one's Peace Corps role; requesting help; reporting another's statements (interpreting); talking about job skills; explaining a program; arranging a meeting; invitations; renting a house; and explaining Peace Corps goals.
