Abstract | This document consists of the first three issues of a new newsletter concerning people who are deaf-blind. Issues present substantive articles, news on technical assistance in various areas, book reviews, and conference information. The following articles are included: (1) "Rationale for Editorial Policy on Terminology" (John W. Reiman), which explains the newsletter's policy of requiring a clear definition of the population being referenced; (2) "Doors" (Joyce Ford), in which a mother recounts the reactions of her deaf-blind son's nondisabled classmates when he moved to another school; (3) "Teaching Students Who Are Deaf-Blind and Cognitively Disabled To Effectively Communicate Choices During Mealtime" (Carole R. Gothelf and others); (4) "The National Information Clearinghouse on Children Who Are Deaf-Blind" (Bruce Bull); (5) "Blue Chair Time" (Joyce Ford); (6) "Can Inclusive Education Work for Students Who Are Deaf-Blind?" (Lori Goetz); (7) "Assessing the Instructional Environment To Meet the Needs of Learners with Multiple Disabilities Including Students Who Are Deaf-Blind" (Bonnie L. Utley); (8) "DB-LINK: Concept to Clearinghouse" (Gail Leslie); (9) "Looking at Self-Stimulation in the Pursuit of Leisure" (Kate Moss); (10) "A Dangerous Misrepresentation of the Facts in the 15th Annual Report to Congress on the Implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act" (Vic Baldwin); (11) "Family Fun Day--An Experience in Nature" (Barbara Cook); (12) "A Guide for Presenters at Interpreted Conferences" (Rhonda Jacobs and Richelle Hammett); and (13)"Cruising the Information Highway" (Randy Klumph).
