Abstract | This curriculum guide provides materials for developing a home economics family life course to assist students in improving the quality of individual and family life. The course contains 12 units that cover the following topics: self-awareness, wheel of life, dating, mate selection, engagement, marriage, money management, parenting, crisis management, the "golden years," and philosophy of life. Each unit contains one or more lesson plans, each consisting of competencies, introduction, lesson options and supplies, summary, test bank, information sheets, and transparency masters. The final section of the guide includes the following: an alphabetical listing of lessons, a recommended scope and sequence, and a list of 26 books, 4 Extension bulletins, 9 films or filmstrips, 2 magazines, 16 musical pieces, five pamphlets, 9 resource centers, 26 videotapes, and 7 miscellaneous resources.
