Abstract | This practicum project was designed to formulate and initiate a plan of action to promote and evaluate a community college Child Care Credential (CCC) training program. A pre-implementation survey indicated that few child care professionals in the community knew of the program or its characteristics. A media campaign was designed to promote the program and recruit child care professionals to it. It consisted of implemented. The campaign consisted of radio and television public service announcements, newspaper advertisements, presentations at local professional meetings, and a mass mailing to all child care centers and professionals in the community. The CCC training program developed by the state Division of Child Development was then presented to 100 participants over an 11-week period. Analysis of entrance and exit surveys to program participants found that the CCC training program was effective and had practical value for child care professionals. Contains 22 references. (MDM) |
